World Mental Health Day 2025
Discover our independent hospitals, the stories that shape them, and how we can support your referrals today. Whether you have a general enquiry, would like some information on the support we provide, or anything in between – we’re here to help and would love to hear from you.

Every Voice Matters
At Alternative Futures Group, everything we do is about positively impacting lives and empowering the people we support to define the independent life they want, and helping them take positive steps toward it.
We believe every person has the right to be heard, to be supported, and to live well, and this day is a reminder that talking openly about mental health is a vital part of making that possible.
This week, we’re sharing the voices of the people we support and our colleagues across AFG’s independent hospitals, because Every Voice Matters and by listening, sharing, and supporting one another, we can take meaningful steps towards better mental health for everyone.

Our Independent Hospitals
We provide specialist mental health services at six independent hospitals across Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
Here our dedicated multidisciplinary teams provide person-centred support for adults with complex mental health needs, with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery, reablement, crisis intervention and relapse prevention.

Highlighting our Patient Flow Lead

As our Patient Flow Lead, Justine Millington ensures people receive the right support at the right time. By coordinating admissions into our Independent Hospitals and planning early for timely discharges, she helps reduce delays and create smoother transitions for the people we support. Justine also focuses on opening up new opportunities, such as step-downs into our AFG community settings or tailored support at home. Ultimately, her role helps people with complex needs move into less restrictive environments and live more independently, with the right support around them.
