Jean’s story – supported to live in her own home for the first time
Jean* is 76 years old and has been supported by AFG since 2018. She has a long-standing diagnosis of treatment resistant paranoid schizophrenia, meaning she experiences persistent persecutory delusions, auditory hallucinations (voices) and has a lack of insight into her condition.

Jenny* is a woman in her 50s with a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia and cognitive decline, a condition where someone has minor problems with their mental abilities such as memory or thinking.

Helen’s Story – supported to take the trip of a lifetime
Helen* is a woman in her 50s who lives in one of our supported living services commissioned by Knowsley Council. When she first arrived with AFG she faced significant challenges with her physical and mental health. She engaged in a range of compulsive behaviours and struggled with symptoms due to her type two diabetes, asthma and COPD.
With support, Helen is now able to manage her conditions and was able to go on a holiday overseas, something she had always dreamed of.
