Helen’s professional career encompassed 50 years in the NHS. Helen began her career as a Cadet nurse and after qualifying as a nurse and a nurse teacher she moved into management.
Helen is an experienced commissioner of services and retired from her role as Chief Executive in a Primary Care Trust in 2011. She has continued to maintain her interest in health, particularly mental health services. Helen’s second retirement from her role as chair of an NHS Foundation Trust specialising in Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community services was in June 2021.
