At AFG, we believe that with the right support, people can achieve amazing things. The theme this year for Mental Health Awareness Week is Action. Kicking off the week on Monday the 11th of May, this week is a chance for all of us to take a moment, check in with ourselves, and take small, positive steps towards better wellbeing.
This year, we’re supporting the people we work with and our colleagues by introducing a 7-Day Wellbeing Action Booklet. It’s been designed to encourage simple, everyday actions that can help support mental health in a way that feels manageable and personal.
Small steps, your way
We know that looking after your mental health can feel different for everyone. That’s why this booklet focuses on small, achievable activities that can be adapted to suit each person’s needs, preferences, and pace.
Across the week, each day introduces a different focus from moving your body and taking a moment to pause, to connecting with others and making time to rest. These aren’t big changes or expectations they’re gentle prompts to help people feel more in control, build confidence, and take positive steps in a way that works for them.
Supporting people together
Across our Independent Hospitals, teams will be supporting people to take part in the booklet throughout the week. Activities will be planned each day in line with the booklet themes, creating opportunities for shared experiences, meaningful engagement, and connection, and our community members will also be able to take part in these activities.
This is about more than completing activities it’s about creating supportive environments where people feel encouraged, included, and able to take part in their own way.
Get involved
We’d love for as many people as possible to take part. You can download and print your own copy of the booklet below and use it in a way that suits you.

You might complete it on your own, with others, or dip in and out throughout the week, whatever feels right for you.
