We understand how daunting starting a new role can be, therefore everyone who joins the AFG team completes a first-class Induction Programme that’s both highly engaging as well as informative. It’s the perfect way to ensure you get a good feeling of what AFG is all about. The programme is led by our dedicated in house Learning Team so you can embrace our culture and values, as well as getting up to speed with what you need for your role. All new colleagues receive an Induction Pathway, which directs them to the tools and mandatory training sessions you need to build your skills and knowledge over the first six months.
We recognise you play an important part in AFG’s success. We continue to offer support whilst you perform in your role so you can become better at what you do best.
Everyone completes four My Performance reviews a year. These reviews are interspersed with regular 1:1 discussions with your line manager. So, no matter where you start in AFG, you receive regular opportunities to discuss with your line manager opportunities to grow and develop your knowledge and skills and/or achieve a recognised qualification.
We pride ourselves on remaining at the forefront of developing innovative learning opportunities. Our AFG knowledge hub, called LearningSpace, is a one-stop portal for a wide range of resources. You can ‘brush up’ on IT skills and specific topic toolboxes, to our annual values programme and leadership/management training.
We’re also embracing the opportunities that technology brings to make your learning even more flexible. iLEARN is our interactive digital eLearning portal and allows you to fit your learning around work, and learn in the way that suits you best. There’s plenty of general and role-specific learning available on LearningSpace and iLEARN and we regularly update content to keep it interactive, engaging and fit for purpose.
